He is the who idealized the band, and the first member he recruited was Beth, his school colleague, who taught him how to play. He is the one responsible for the bands lyrics and experimentalism, but not the main musical composer, despite he has some good riffs. He's the art director and decides how should be the band's booklet, shirts, music videos and stage decoration. He began it all with his friendship with Beth, and later called Gloria, to whom she felt in love. Gloria seemed to don't like him the same way, but showed too jealous in the second season when he seemed to start a relationship with Peggy from Milk Doll. Sam, who joined the band in the second season flirt at him all the time, but they have a good relationship. He always has ideas to make the band carreer and appearances everytime more surprising and unique.
